In my opinion the best Chinese restaurant in Leipzig with very authentic cuisine. Really tasty. We have been here very often and it always tasted good :)
The China burner is a sensation. You open the door and start a short trip to China. Located in a typical Plagwitz industrial hall, the furnishings and the food are absolutely authentic. The food, which you choose by ticking off a list, is tasty and sometimes spicy, the service is very friendly and explanatory, and the Chinabrenner even has its own beer. Rather higher in price, but completely reasonable in view of the experience. Absolute recommendation, but make a reservation! In contrast to the rich and varied evening menu, the Chinabrenner offers two dishes at lunchtime - one vegetarian, one with meat.
No ... we would not recommend the restaurant! It didn't taste bad, but it's not that special that such a small plate costs over 20 euros! Another deficit ... The dishes are ice cold in 4 minutes and so is the rice. What also steals any atmosphere is the music that the staff probably like, but it feels like you're at a band rehearsal or at a festival. That was the only and last visit ... a shame!
The quality of the food and its taste is good. Prices are way too high! - Service unfortunately mediocre, the warmth is missing.
The food really tastes like in China. That's great! It's not cheap, I hope it's fresh enough. So far everything is interesting and okay. That the order is based on the Chinese inland is unfortunately a shame.
For me the best and most of all the most authentic Chinese food outside of China. Modern retro look. Slightly higher in price, but worth every euro. Super nice service. We recommend!
Great food, wow how delicious. Good location. The prices are higher.
We thought it tasted okay, but nothing special, the prices are completely excessive. The service was good.
If you want to enjoy authentic food better than in China, this is the right place.
We tried the Chinabrenner on the recommendation of Tripadvisor and really enjoyed the evening. The meal was excellent. Our waiter Pepe was very friendly and accommodating. Really recommend! We would love to come back!
Tasted good. The staff seemed quite stressed, sure it was lunchtime, but a smile like that can work wonders. I would just come back away from the food.
After about sixty years of average Chinese food (when I was ten for the first time with my grandmother to eat Chinese), I first experienced what Chinese cuisine actually tastes like at the Chinabrenner: very, very different from what I have ever eaten. Excellent advice on the selection of the rather strange dishes, completely unusual individual ambience - you can tell that an artist with individual designs is in charge. Mixture of the Far East (you get wanderlust) and style elements from the surrounding alternative scene.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ China in Leipzig. Inspired by a small cookshop in Chengdu, the Chinabrenner - certainly no longer an insider tip - offers authentic Chinese delicacies. Highly recommended.
Very tasty and authentic food. The pineapple with fresh mint for dessert is awesome! Very nice service!
A hip place indeed and as one unfortunately can expect, highly overrated.
nice place, maybe a little hidden but you can find it. Had the feeling that it was authentic food, nothing Germanized. Price ok
Were there a second time now. But mostly for the reason that it was open until 11pm. Selection was much smaller this time. And the prices, I find it much too exaggerated. As far as drinks are concerned, a whopping 0.25 euros for a glass of wine. A beer 0.5 came to 5.00 euros. Food was good but would have expected more for the price. And the rice should be included in the prices and not pay extra. Conclusion, we were full, tasted on the whole, service was friendly but a third time we will not go again.
Love the food in the China burner - authentic, tasty, varied! Especially recommended: the lunch menu. Was there over 20 times and always satisfied 😊😊
Delicious food! I can only recommend it to people who like Asian. Sharpness lovers in particular come from very good food. Unfortunately, the whole thing has a proud price, but with something so tasty you can spend a little more money. Always my pleasure.
Trendy Chinese place with awesome sharing platters and authentic cuisine. Somewhat pricey for Leipzig standards but worth it!
We have been going to China burner for years and are always thrilled! I can only recommend it. High quality, totally delicious food. I absolutely cannot understand some recessions about the price etc., this is not a 08/15 Germanized Chinese snack bar. Here you get a really good, special Chinese food! Keep it up! Tip-> absolutely try the salt-roasted pork, a very tasty taste experience !!!
It felt like in a Chinese canteen: so food and ambiance absolutely authentic! You could taste the fresh preparation. The service was very nice but definitely needs support for peak hours. All in all: absolutely recommendable!
after being constantly disapointed by the tastless food in leipzig, i found the one place i am happy to spend my hard earned money on. only food with taste in germany. dean out.
Lunch menu is only ever one dish, with or without meat, so call ahead. Otherwise excellent.
Interesting concept for lunch - you have a choice of either with meat or vegetables. After you make the choice, what comes is a bit of a surprise. Lunch item changes each day so you’re never sure what you’re going to get so it’s a bit exciting. Certainly one to try if you’re looking for something new.
Lunch disaster. Over cooked rice and no flavour in the special chicken.
good food, a bit pricey
Good Chinese food. Always sth vege
Very bad food, over priced, and staff is quite rude. Definitely not recommended
Tasty Food, nice variety, albeit a little expensive. Also it is not the most cosy place. But definitly worth a visit.
Horrible
THE WORST EVER
Worst food ever
Worst ever
Awesome sichuan cuisine. Staff was pretty unfriendly though.
I loved, we have to wait a litle bit, but is a famous and good kitchen place. If you come to leipzog. U hace to try this restaurant.
Nice place, good food!
The food was really salty and way far from what I have had in China. The table wares and the tables were not so fancy made me doubt with the price.
Very nice
Good food. Terrible service! I went to China Brenner with my partner and had the worst experience with our waiter. We speak little German (which has never been a problem before since we do speak some German) and I believe the waiter was unhappy to deal with us from the first moment we asked him to, please, repeat what he had said. He repeated in English (which shows he knows the language) and from that moment on it was hell. He was rude at all times, coming to the table walking away while we were in the middle of our sentences, but he excelled himself at the end, while we ordering tea. The description on the menu says the tea comes with a thermo of hot water and so we wondered if the tea itself came in a pot (and therefore could be shared) or in a cup for individual consumption. We called him, ordered one tea, and midway while posing the question he walked away. My partner then called him again (he wouldn't move, he just looked at us from the counter and waived his had doing a "what"move) and tried to finish the question. The waiter interrupted him midway and yelled (!) "yes! two glasses, two glasses" and walked away. Actually, if the tea was an individual portion, we wanted to order two different kinds, but he didn't let us. After this scene, paying was also a problem. He grabbed the money from the table saying "danke" while we didn't say a word and simply never came back with the change (around 3 euros). The food was good, the price was salty, but the terrible service truly ruined my experience. Not coming back.
The food is great and the service is good, but don't expect anything too fancy.
Cool place and nice food.
Authentic food that tastes great, staff can be a bit lackluster.
Bester Chinese ever!
Best Chinese food I've eaten in Germany so far.
Best!
Not too bad, and supposedly "authentic" Chinese or at least Szechuan food, but way too overpriced for what you get, I prefer "Chinas Welt" in the Industriepalast, myself. I guess that's what you can expect with your average restaurant in Plagwitz, one visit was enough for me. At least staff is friendly and accommodating.
Tucked in a quite little corner of plagwitz, it's one of the places that's always crowded.. If going on lunch time try their lunch menu.
maybe I am just too old, but the whole order process was a bit complicated and unflexible. The location was nice, although a bit out of the way, the service OK.
Good alternative for lunch, even though it seems like it is always the same
